About Our School

Batanagar was born out of a creative work, which proved beneficial to all. His aim was to make every citizen of batanagar literate.

Children would receive primary and secondary education and adults would have industrial training in the same premises as the famous Bata School of work in Zlin,Czechoslovakia.

Towards fulfillment of the objective of the founder, a number of educationists and renowned scholars were consulted.

The total number of ex students who have crossed the gates of the school till date is around 5000 and the present strength of the school is about 1000 students. Originally this school started as an English high school and ran for a year in the present building and then got elevated to high school. The co education structure was broken into two – Boys & Girls separately somewhere in the mid of 50s. We had a number of illustrious visitors to the school including President of India( Sri V.V Giri, Sri PRanob Mukherjee) ,Prime Ministers of India( Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mrs. Indira Gandhi),Governors’ of the sStatte(Dr. K N Katju, Ms. Padmaja Naidu,Prof. Harendranath Mukherjee,Mr. Viren shah), State Chief Minister(Dr. B.C.Roy) etc. The school had won the Subrata Cup once.The school is one of the pioneer Institutes in this part of the country to experiment with the basic education.
